Fifty-four units of supportive housing planned for Fortune Drive have been put on hold. BC Housing says it’s “adjusting the pace of housing investments to align with available funding” — the provincial deficit is doing what local opposition couldn’t. An archaeological assessment in May will proceed, but construction timing is now open-ended. (Castanet)

Downtown parking is about to get more expensive — and more strictly enforced. Staff presented a five-year overhaul to council Monday: on-street rates rising from $1.25 to $1.50/hour, longer enforcement hours, and expanded paid zones. Bears are out and the city is watching the bins. April 1 kicks off Bear Smart season; the city’s asking residents to store meat scraps in the freezer until collection day, bring pet food inside, and take down bird feeders from May through November. (City of Kamloops)

Kamloops RCMP are asking for help locating Julian Noah Robinson, 25, wanted on a firearms possession warrant along with weapon prohibition and obstruction charges.
