🚨 A tailings spill has been reported at the New Afton mine just west of Kamloops. Parent company Coeur Mining says a planned Wednesday morning conveyance didn’t route to the tailings storage facility and was drained to a nearby containment area. About 219 cubic metres of thickened tailings spilled beyond that containment but stayed within the mine’s permit boundary. (CFJC Today)
