Missing 81-year-old Diane Freeman has been found safe. Freeman and her dog Banjo were located on a forest service road outside Kamloops early Saturday evening with the help of RCMP helicopter Air 4. She has since been reunited with family after a hospital assessment. (Radio NL, KamloopsBCNow)

Excavation is underway at Fourth and Seymour for the $211-million Kamloops Centre for the Arts. Matt Kachel, the City’s infrastructure delivery divisional manager, told the Build Kamloops Committee that the project continues on track with no significant issues, and that crews had moved about 5,000 cubic metres of earth as of Apr 10. The City has opened a public-approval process for two proposed long-term loans. Up to $16.75 million to buy a 9.77-acre industrial property at 965 McMaster Way, and up to $9 million for Phase III of the Tranquille Road sanitary main project. A suspect allegedly rammed a Kamloops RCMP cruiser with a stolen truck and trailer early Monday. Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP were alerted around 4:15 a.m. to a break-in at a Savona storage compound. Officers spotted the truck in Kamloops and attempted a stop. “While the police vehicle was damaged, the officer was not injured,” said Cpl. Dana Napier.
