📰 News
A four-storey cooperative apartment is coming to downtown Kamloops. The Propolis Cooperative Housing Society plans to break ground this year on a 27-unit building at St. Paul Street and 10th Avenue, with studios through three-bedrooms, a community garden, flexible amenity rooms, and an on-site car share. Target completion is early 2028. (CFJC Today)
The Pathways shelter on Tranquille is staying put — but probably not past this extension. ARPA Investments co-owner Joshua Knaak says the 20-month permit extension fits within his redevelopment timeline: design work for 142 Tranquille Road begins in the next six to eight months, while a separate development at 108 Tranquille is already moving ahead. Council held its April 21 meeting at the Kia lounge at 3 p.m. — unusual timing to accommodate public input on the Pathways shelter. The 44-bed facility at 142 Tranquille Road, operated by ASK Wellness Society and funded through BC Housing, provides 24/7 emergency shelter alongside health, cultural, and housing supports for people experiencing homelessness on the North Shore. 🚨 Safety
A Kamloops man was sentenced to probation Thursday after a drunken road-rage incident that ended on a neighbour’s driveway. Lloyd Ross, 62, pleaded guilty to assault after following the victim home on Aug. 11, 2025 — pounding her vehicle with his fists, hurling racist and sexist insults at her and her daughter, and then swatting at her phone and grabbing for it as she tried to photograph his licence plate.
