Good Morning

A lighter Saturday edition, as promised. I’m away for part of the weekend, so this one is all Mother’s Day ideas in Kamloops.

There will be no Sunday, May 10 edition. We’ll be back Monday, May 11.

📅 Events

A few Mother’s Day ideas, if you still need one. Nothing too complicated here.

Hello Toast opens at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 10; Amsterdam Restaurant opens at 7:30 a.m. Both are obvious Mother’s Day picks, which also means they are the kind of places worth calling before you head over.

If brunch sounds like more effort than love, Amplified Cafe has Mother’s Day picnic packs for Sunday pickup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with two-person and four-person packs listed from $45.

If there are kids in the plan, West Coast Amusements is at Aberdeen Mall all weekend. Tourism Kamloops lists the fair as running Saturday, May 9 from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 from noon to 6 p.m.

Valley Markets is also at Sahali Mall Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. if you need a card, flowers, a small gift, or just a reason to get out of the house before Sunday.

For gifts, Sunshrine has a couple of Mother’s Day spa offers listed through Sunday, and both Creative Floral Co. and Rose & Wild list same-day flower delivery in Kamloops.

And honestly, the simplest version might be the best one: pick up coffee, flowers or pastries, then take a slow walk at Riverside Park, McArthur Island or Peterson Creek.
