Kamloops is considering steeper false-alarm penalties after RCMP attended 573 false alarm calls in 2025. A staff report says those calls cost taxpayers more than $61,000 last year, and the proposed bylaw changes would introduce hourly cost recovery plus higher tiered fees for repeat offenders if council approves them.
