Good morning. A quick thank-you to everyone who has already filled out the anonymous Digest feedback survey. The Digest has grown a lot lately, and hearing from readers helps keep it useful without guessing what people actually want more or less of.


📰 News

The Kullagh Creek wildfire hit 149 hectares Tuesday and is still going. Burning along Highway 5A near the north end of Stump Lake, the fire had 71 personnel on scene alongside helicopters and heavy equipment. One property is under evacuation order and dozens more are on alert. (CFJC Today · Castanet)

Kamloops United now has a national youth soccer licence. The club is one of five in B.C. authorized to run a top-level academy program, completing a player pathway from entry-level through semi-pro and giving local athletes a way to stay in Kamloops for elite development. (Radio NL · CFJC Today)

More commercial truckers were ticketed during a Kamloops-area safety blitz. Police and Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement officers issued more tickets and warnings during a three-day campaign on local highways than during the same campaign in 2025, with checks focused on mechanical condition, paperwork and driver compliance. Tobiano residents could vote this fall on a proposed fire hall. The Thompson-Nicola Regional District says a referendum is planned for a purpose-built hall to support fire protection in the resort community west of Kamloops. (CFJC Today)
