A trailer fire on Tk’emlúps reserve displaced residents after spreading to a nearby house. Castanet reports about 18 Kamloops Fire Rescue firefighters were called to a Cree Road property Thursday morning, where a flat deck trailer was fully engulfed and flames spread to a home. No injuries were reported, but the home was left unlivable and emergency social services are supporting those displaced. (Castanet)
City of Kamloops staff remuneration rose 11 per cent in 2025. CFJC reports the city’s annual Statement of Financial Information, headed to council Tuesday, shows the increase followed a 10.6 per cent rise the year before. Corporate Services Director David Hallinan tied the latest jump largely to negotiated agreements with CUPE and Kamloops Fire Rescue staff. (CFJC Today)

🚧 Highway 1 paving continues east of Kamloops. DriveBC says eastbound paving is underway between Stoney Flats Road and Old Ferry Road, from about six kilometres east of Kamloops to 13 kilometres west of Chase, with weekday and Saturday lane closures from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until July 17.
