Tom Cochrane and Amanda Marshall are coming to the Sandman Centre on November 10. The White Hot, Dark Horse tour reunites the two performers for their first shows together in 34 years. About 850 Kamloops tickets sold in the first two days. (Castanet)

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc confirmed its emergency crews responded within hours of the July 6 wildfire report on East Shuswap Road, working alongside Kamloops Fire Rescue and the BC Wildfire Service on containment until released that evening. The incident remains under review. (Tkemlups te Secwepemc)

Troy Daniels was sentenced to 45 days in jail and one year of probation for an assault at McArthur Island. The 51-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting his girlfriend near the river in April and breaching his release conditions twice in May. (Castanet)

The 2141 steam locomotive has cleared a major test on its way back to service. The Kamloops Heritage Railway Society completed a supervised hydrostatic test after engineering reviews and volunteer restoration work. The 114-year-old Spirit of Kamloops can now proceed to steam testing. (CFJC Today)


🏛️ What Changed

A new memorial crosswalk now honours veterans in downtown Kamloops. The crosswalk at Battle Street and Third Avenue features red maple leaves and the words “In honour of those who served and sacrificed” in English and French. It was unveiled Friday as the Royal Canadian Legion’s Kamloops branch marked its 100th anniversary. (Castanet)

The Fiftynine Creek wildfire has prompted an evacuation order for 131 properties near Big Bar Lake. The TNRD elevated its response Saturday after the fire grew rapidly to an estimated 4,000 hectares. Newly evacuated residents near Meadow Lake were directed east toward Highway 97. (CFJC Today)

Thirty-eight properties east of 100 Mile House are under evacuation order because of the Bowers Lake wildfire. The out-of-control fire was estimated at 150 hectares Saturday after dry lightning sparked about 100 new wildfires across B.C. on Friday. (CFJC Today)
