📰 News

Kamloops is under a heat warning as temperatures climb into the high 30s. Environment Canada’s warning threshold is a daytime high of 35°C and an overnight low of 18°C. The ridge should begin breaking down Thursday, but wildfire smoke could also move into the city. (CFJC Today)

Wildfire activity is expected to intensify around Kamloops as the heat returns. Fires in the Cariboo and Fraser Canyon could threaten more properties, while shifting winds may keep the thickest smoke away from the city early in the week. (Radio NL)

Mia Wittal turned 13 in May and just walked away from provincials with five medals. Competing in the 13-14 division for the first time, she won gold in the 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly, silver in the 100m butterfly, and bronze in the 100m backstroke and 200m medley. (CFJC Today)

Kamloops Airport welcomed 72,937 passengers in the second quarter. That was a 10.6 per cent increase from the same period in 2025, continuing the airport’s year-over-year growth despite higher fuel costs and airline schedule changes. (CFJC Today)
