The TNRD lifted evacuation alerts for nearly 1,243 properties around Loon Lake, 70 Mile House, South Green Lake, Highway 97 and south of Highway 99. An evacuation order affecting 20 properties near Kelly Lake, north of Canoe Creek and along Highway 97 was also downgraded, allowing residents to return under alert. Kamloops RCMP are asking for help finding 16-year-old Emma Worthington. She was reported missing after she did not return home as expected Wednesday, August 19. Rain and cooler weather helped crews advance containment work on the Pear Lake wildfire. The fire remains out of control at about 164,745 hectares, but two to 18 millimetres of rain reduced behaviour and gave crews access to areas that had been difficult to work.
