Police and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the death of an 18-year-old Kamloops man after an e-scooter crash. The crash occurred near Battle Street and Lee Road shortly before 4 a.m. August 16. The rider was taken to hospital with critical injuries and later died; RCMP said no helmet was found at the scene and investigators are asking witnesses or anyone with video to contact police. Investigators are renewing their appeal for information one year after Dillen Bain was found dead in a burned vehicle. The 25-year-old Kamloops man was found early August 23, 2025 on Tranquille-Criss Creek Road, and police determined the vehicle had been deliberately set on fire. The Southeast District Major Crime Unit is asking anyone who saw Bain or his black Volkswagen Golf before his death—or who has other information—to contact police. (KamloopsBCNow · Castanet)
