Evacuation measures have eased for properties near the Ainslie Creek wildfire. The TNRD gave the all-clear to about 94 addressed properties, including Brookmere and parts of Kane Valley Road east of the Coquihalla Highway. Other properties were downgraded from evacuation order to alert, meaning residents can return but must remain prepared to leave if conditions worsen. (CFJC Today)

The Bald Range wildfire near Summerland is now classified as being held, allowing more evacuation orders and alerts to end. Despite the improved status, BC Wildfire Service has established an area restriction around the fire until September 12 or until it is rescinded. Kamloops Search and Rescue helped two hikers stranded at the Mount Savona Caves Friday night. Nine members deployed with rope-rescue equipment and a stretcher after one hiker became dizzy and distressed during the descent. The pair were cold and experiencing muscle cramps when rescuers reached them, and both were brought out safely. (CFJC Today)
