☕ Good Morning
A note from Isaac
Hi everyone,
My name is Isaac Audet. I started Kamloops Digest and have been the person writing, building and maintaining it since the beginning.
It has been a really cool project. It even led to a CBC Radio interview, which was a lot of fun. More than anything, I’ve appreciated hearing that people enjoy reading it. The feedback has been nothing but positive, and hearing through friends that people around town were talking about the Digest was honestly amazing.
For the past year, I’ve also been running Trim Automation, doing software development for small businesses. More recently, my work has moved in a different direction. Some of you may have noticed the daily games linked at the bottom of these emails. I made Amountle, and I’ve since built several more games at DLEClub.com.
Those games have grown to the point where I can now make them my full-time work. That is exciting, but it also means I no longer have enough time to give Kamloops Digest the attention it deserves. A few editions have already been missed, and I don’t want that to become the normal experience for readers.
The Digest has always been something I ran on the side. It does not currently make money, but I think someone with the time to work on sponsorships and local partnerships could turn it into a sustainable small business.
I’ve spoken with a few interested people, but nothing solid has come together yet. Unless someone takes it over, I plan to close Kamloops Digest at the end of October.
I would really like to see it continue. The newsletter, website, events directory, subscriber list and the systems behind everything are ready to transfer, and I would provide a proper handover. I am hoping to recover some of the time and work I’ve put into building it, so I am looking for a buyer rather than giving it away.
If you might be interested, or know someone who would be a good fit, you can read more here or reply directly to this email.
Since it’s Thanksgiving, I also just want to say thank you. It has been a joy making this for Kamloops, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has read it, shared it or sent a kind message.
Isaac
